Amish Village and Village Greens

Strasburg, PA

Sep 28, 2007

After church services, we drove out to Strasburg, PA with Mom and Dad. We stopped for lunch at Isaac's Restaurant & Deli ((39.9822,-76.1664)). Chris had the Reuben on a pretzel roll, Katherine's sandwich was called the Big Fat Lyre. Steven had the Extreme Purple Mallow (peanut butter and jelly on rainbow bread with marshmallows), and Andrew had the Cardinal (flatbread pizza). After lunch, we stopped at the Strasburg Train Shop next door and browsed for a few minutes.

We drove to The Amish Village on Hartman Bridge Road ((40.0075,-76.1866)). We toured a two-story home decorated in Amish-style, a barn, covered bridge and schoolhouse. They had a small gift shop where Chris got a nice black hat and Katherine got a bonnet. We got some root beer candy for the kids.

We stopped at the Village Greens miniature golf facility on Village Road ((39.9825,-76.2073)) and played eighteen holes with Mom and Dad.

For dinner, Mom and Dad joined us at the Texas Roadhouse on the Lincoln Highway ((40.0266,-76.2108)). We had to wait a rather long time to be seated. Chris had the 10-ounce ribeye, Katherine had the smothered chicken, Steven had macaroni and cheese, and Andrew had the hamburger.
