After our tours were over, it was lunchtime, so we wandered just next door to the National Café, which has been “serving the Moose Jaw area for over 70 years.” They had a Chinese and Canadian menu. The food was delectable and not too heavy or salty. We talked about iced tea with our waitress, since apparently they get quite a few Americans come up expecting Canadians to have fresh-brewed unsweetened ice tea. Public Service Announcement: all the iced tea we had was either from a can or a mix, and it was plenty sweet.

After our yummy lunch, we continued our habit of doing bizarre things by buying the antique typewriter and then lugging it to the car, past many bemused Canadians.
