The Corner Cafe had tables that were covered with green and white checked plastic tablecloths. The floor used the same motif with green and white tiles. The restaurant also had green cabinets and trim, and leafy wallpaper.

The rye bread on this Reuben was grilled nicely—soft, but toasty! The tastes of the sandwich blended pretty well overall. The corned beef tasted like one of those corned beef patties that they make, but it was tempered by the sauerkraut. Really, I would have to say that the bread on this sandwich was the best part. While it wasn't a bad tasting sandwich, there was really nothing memorable about it.

I upgraded my side to the onion rings, and the seasoning on the onions was a thin batter, almost like the seasoning on curly fries. I'd never had onion rings that tasted like that before—the onion rings alone are worth a stop at the Corner Cafe.

The Reuben was okay, and perhaps slightly below average because of the meat patty, but it was acceptable. The bread didn't have an overly rye flavor. The onion rings, however, were FANTASTIC!
