The bread was very lightly grilled, and delicious! I think my sandwich was a little light on the thousand island, but there was plenty of meat. The sandwich would probably be perfect if they had been as generous with the sauerkraut and thousand island. The potato salad was really good, but 7.99 still seems like a very high price to pay. I would recommend 6.79 at the most for this sandwich. I must say that our server was great. She never once had to ask the ten of us who had which drink, entree, or check--she really had it together.

Crispy kraut, lightly toasted rye: actually fairly good. The potato salad served on the side complements the thousand island flavor in the sandwich. It was enjoyable without being too heavy. Great lunch, if a bit pricey.

Nice place, but expensive. Crispy sauerkraut was unusual, I've not experienced that before. Bread was nicely grilled. And there was lots of quality corned beef. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think there was too much beef. I couldn't taste much of anything else. I suppose if you're paying that much they feel like they need to pile it on; I'd rather have had less beef and paid less. Potato salad in a crock on the side was tasty. Presentation would have been improved if there was some sort of garnish or decoration on the plate: I mean, it looked fine, but there was no pickle, no lettuce leaf, not even a toothpick, and I feel like they ought to give that little extra bit to get an A. Service was impeccable, and even included a complimentary mint. Oh, and they put a lemon wedge in my icewater, I always like that. Overall, it's only the expense that keeps me from giving the Max & Erma's reuben an A. And maybe that crispy sauerkraut.

There are only two things I would like to change about the sandwich. The first is the price. The other is that their sauerkraut was too bland. There was an appropriate amount of thousand island dressing, and a very generous portion of corned beef. They also did a good job of toasting the bread, but still keeping it soft. I also felt that the service was great. Our waitress was efficient and accurate, and we got our food reasonably quickly.

Good bread, and the meat was very good. A little too crunchy on the kraut. It could have used a little more dressing, but overall a solid Reuben.

The meat was very good. The sauerkraut, however, was too mild--it was more like plain cabbage.

Good service, but too greasy for my tastes.
