Off to Illinois
Indianapolis, IN to Morton, IL
Jul 8, 2006
We loaded up the car for our trip on Friday evening, and left our house about noon on Saturday, July 8. We drove to West Lafayette, Indiana for Sabbath Services. After church, we took US52 West to US24 West to I-55 South, to Bloomington, Illinois.

In Bloomington, we stopped for dinner at the Cracker Barrel restaurant located at the US150 interchange with I-55. Chris had the chicken and dumplings, Katherine had the grilled chicken salad, Steve had the hamburger, and Andy had the grilled cheese. Desmond was our server.

As we watched the sun setting behind patches of clouds, we drove the additional half hour west on I-74 to the Comfort Inn in Morton, Illinois which is on the east side of Peoria. They gave us a non-smoking room, 217, but the room pretty much reeked of stale cigarette smoke. So we opened the window and turned the blower on for most of the evening.
Chris took Steve and Andy down to the indoor pool where they frolicked about for a half hour. Then we all chilled before bedtime by watching a women's professional billiards match on television.
