Feeling a Bit Superior

The after-lunch drive was a bit stultifying, so we took the opportunity that presented itself in the form of turnout with steps down to the beach near Shot Point.
Since we (with the exception of Steven) are not really beach people, this small trek was a microcosm of all the highlights of a beach visit: plenty of sand in the shoes, water too cold to wade into, and lots of looking at the sky and the water and saying, “Well, what a view.”
The three of us who are not beach people tugged away the fourth, and off we drove—after creating a new small sand dune by shaking out our shoes.
