White River Light Station
Whitehall, MI
Jun 22, 2008
What’s nicer after a picnic than a walk by the waterside? The Rowlands drove on along US-31 to Whitehall, MI to visit the White River Light Station and Museum.
It was a compact little space with a somewhat haphazard arrangement of lighthouse-related and nautical…stuff (through which we were told to take a self-guided tour). From prints of newspaper articles about fishermen to a life ring from the Edmund Fitzgerald, it was crammed from stem to stern (look, a nautical term!) with bits and pieces.
After sating our desire for nautical artifacts, we watched a sailboat come in through the channel.
