The Old Hand

The Old Hand was quite accessible. We came on a weekend, and it was easy to park right at the circle surrounding the giant hand, and walk right up to it. No stairs or obstacles hindered our path.

The Old Hand didn’t look so old. It was still shiny, and looked almost brand new. Apparently, the fingers are holding a methanol molecule, honoring the origins of Eastman Chemical as a distiller of methanol from wood pulp. No wood in this sculpture, though.

There was plenty of space to create your own unusual photos with The Old Hand, and it was just weird enough to make the visit worthwhile.
